Sleezy Vibes With Paige Beyond
Paige Beyond makes another appearance on Vibing With Sleezy. We discuss the history of our friendship, the Sanctuary Of Eternal Truth, Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Riverbend's Summer Concert List, Pitbull, Spirituality, Animals, how important it is to save the Environment, and more!
Hey, what's up, everybody? Welcome to Vibin' with Sleazy the podcast. This is season seven, episode 18. I want to thank everybody for listening, tuning, and downloading. It's been a great season so far. Um, I want to shout out Carrie Phelps, who was on episode 17. Uh, she was a great guest. We really broke down a lot of movies, and uh, it was kind of fun that whole episode learning random facts about movies while it while it was going on. So it was uh a lot of fun breaking it down. So I'm glad Carrie was finally able to get on an episode. Uh, I have a very special guest for episode 18, one of my favorite people, uh, someone who always brings in the listens, always brings in the downloads, and uh, you know, I've been a part of her show before, and so we go way back, and uh I always appreciate her support, and I'm always riding and supporting her. Uh, Paige Beyond, so how are you doing?
SPEAKER_00Hello, Eric, vibe being with Sleazy. Yeah. So I love how our friendship has just like evolved from being on the podcast a few years ago to now because we we've had near-death experiences together, we've had crazy shit happen, we've had hell, I've had some psychos reveal themselves that I knew, and Eric done sniffed it, sniffed them out. So I just feel like we've gone through a lot, and a lot of people have tried to come between our friendship too.
SPEAKER_01They have, they have, and what's interesting, I I do, I agree with that. I feel like we've been through so much. Um, you've introduced me to some great people um and some weirdos, and then also too, I feel like I've done probably the same thing with people that have probably added you on social media and stuff like that. But yeah, we've been through a lot. Um, I feel like too, though, what I love, and and I mentioned it when I was a guest on your show, is that the support has never stopped, the love has never stopped, and we've always gotten through everything. Um, you know, we at one time had such an interesting uh group text, the Wolfpack, that was so much fun. But I just feel like over time we have just developed uh a very strong bond. And I just know what I like about you and I care about you so much is that I can reach out to you, you're there, same thing with me. Um, you know, and I uh every time I'm like driving past where you live, your area, I'm just like, oh, shout to Paige. What's up, Paige? So um, yeah, I appreciate all the love and support. Um, I want to compliment you. I think that recently here, you've been doing your fitness journey, which has been incredible. You've really been showing the results. I've been on my own little fitness journey. I those damn goalie ads they sold me, but they actually work. I've been taking the pre-bike, post-bike, the ashwanga, apple cider vinegar. I've been taking them daily. I've been um just actually about two hours ago, did about two mile, three-mile walk. Um, really just been moving, keeping the body moving and uh, you know, get getting ready for summer. So, how's this fitness journey been?
SPEAKER_00Well, I started working out with a trainer. He's kind of like a local legend. His name's Kevin Johnson. And this man is scary. I'll be honest. Like in the past, I've had trainers, you know, and when you develop like a friendship with them or they're kind of flexible, or they're like, oh no, don't worry, you missed a session, no worries. You don't really get anywhere because you don't have that accountability, as if like if you have a trainer that you're a little afraid of. Yeah, yeah. All of these ideas of how I should be doing things, and I'm starting to do them, you know, like slowly but surely. But it's hard to incorporate a whole new routine and then add in like meal prepping or grocery shopping or cooking all the time, or like whatever it is. There's so many different things that need to be done.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, for sure. And I had never done the personal trainer route except in college. I played sports in high school and was like always in shape. And then I hit college in Nashville, partied my ass off every day, put on some of that drinking weight. So I was like, you know, I'm gonna hit this gym down the street from my apartment in Nashville. So I go in and they're trying to sell you on getting a personal trainer, and I'm like 21, 22, and I was like, Yeah, I'll give it a shot. So I give it a shot. In my first meeting, the guy goes, Go home and print out somebody that you want to look like. Like, what our goal is. So I think I did not realistically do that right. I printed off Ryan Reynolds shirtless with a six-pack, and I was like, Yeah, turn me into this. And the guy's like, we're gonna need a lot more time, bro. Like, this is this picture is like like probably Photoshop perfection. So, so yeah, those personal trainers, they can really push you. And when I gave it that route, I I I worked out with him for a whole summer, and I ended up moving back to Louisville, so that that all stopped. But yeah, they they can be real motivators, but they can also be that they can be sticklers, they can really, really, you know, make sure that you're doing it. So, um how do you feel like you want to just stay on the personal trainer route, or is it you feel like it's molding you into where eventually you'll just be able to do it on your own?
SPEAKER_00Well, I think personal trainers get a bad rap because they want to charge like a lot of money, but this man accepts HSA FSA. So I put a lot of money in my health savings account and he accepts that. And his sessions are only like$20 a session. So personally, I'm just gonna keep it going because there's not a lot of trainers in Louisville that are hands-on and you can really learn from them. Like he has the credibility, he's done the things, he's pushed people from one extreme to the next. So I really like it. I like it because I'm not developing like a friendship with him. It's more of like just a business thing, even though I like him. I'm still a little afraid of him, you know, like he intimidates me, he's scary. So I'm just gonna keep it going. I told him I want to sign up for another six months because that will push me through October. And I always go really well in like the spring or the summer, because that's when everyone is motivated. But then, of course, like the fall and the winter is when I fall off. So I signed up with him during the winter and I want to keep it going because I know that working out is a chore. It is a commitment, it is, you know, it's a lot of work. But when you have something that you've paid for, you've put that like commitment out there, you almost show up even harder. You know what I mean? Like 10 times harder than you would if you didn't have that accountability. So I honestly feel like I need that just because it's not like I have huge fitness goals where like I want to lose a hundred pounds or I want to lose a certain amount. It's more of just motivation and mobility and strength and like continuing that path.
SPEAKER_01I love that because I that's where I texted you a few days ago, and like I was telling you, I I see your glow, I see your your motivation. I think you have such a big following. So you're motivating uh people that follow you to get in shape, and it's it's important, you know. We're in our 30s, and yeah, we're still young and we can still throw a burger down or two, but at the end of the day, it's really about, you know, like you said, mobility, building strength, and just also just feeling good. And you feel and it also helps mentally too. Like when you hit the gym, it always is a mental refresh, no matter if you got your ass kicked or you're sweaty and you're tired or you didn't even want to go beforehand, it really makes you feel better. So um, I just you know, you've always been gorgeous and and and got a great body, but I feel like you have really, really shown out here these past couple months. I've been seeing your post, and so I'm very, very proud of you.
SPEAKER_00Um, don't go off that subject. I remember I was really on my fitness journey the first time that you had me on the podcast, and I used my boudoir Christmas photos to advertise the podcast. Yeah, you remember that? And your ex-girlfriend was not happy that I chose to use boudoir photos to advertise my vibe beazy podcast episode.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I've had a lot of exes of jealousy. I've had uh had one girl, you know, uh not gonna even say her name. She was so jealous of me and Paige's uh friendship. It was incredible. I meant she was like, is that Paige and you texting again? And I'm like, yeah, we text every day. And her, she just her eyes got all like that emoji on the iPhone where it's like squiggly lines. So I'm just like, you can't replace Paige. You know, you're not gonna replace her in my life.
SPEAKER_00Um, so one girlfriend that you had, and you told her mine and Paige's friendship is non-negotiable.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I did tell that. I did say that to her. She was a little bit younger and she was very uh very confused and shocked, very jealous. And I just told her, I said, it she doesn't she doesn't get replaced. And so I've I pretty much tell that to everybody. Like I have like I'd say three core girls that like you're not gonna replace them. Like, even if we're in a relationship, they're not going away. And and no matter no matter what, you're not going away. And uh so something that uh I'm really excited for is your event in New Albany coming up this summer. I'm I'm excited to go back to that place. I think it's so cool the the universal church and uh where you talk. And I actually it's funny that you're on today because uh with my I started a new job, um I'm uh office manager for a trucking company and uh only work with about three people. And uh a lot of them are into spirituality and and and psychic readings and different things, and so it's kind of cool getting to know this new staff, and I I like that they kind of think the way I do. And I was telling them about you, and I was telling them about the church, and I uh, you know, was telling them about you know how it all goes down and how cool it is. So, you know, people every time I tell them, they're like, Oh, I want to go, I wanna go, and I'm like, Yeah, I'll I'll keep you posted. But um, I I try not to ever miss one. You know, when you invite me, I find a way for that special weekend to be there because number one, I know it's important to you that I'm there because you know I haven't missed one. It's like my regular thing, but also too, it's like it's always a great feeling. And when you leave there, no matter who you are, I and I'm not speaking for anybody, but when I've left there and and just seeing people on the sidewalk outside afterwards, it just everybody feels refreshed, everybody feels very good, everybody feels like that was very, very beneficial. So, how important has that been to you? Like that just that event in general, like like going there and doing that, it that's been pretty big for you, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so the Sanctuary of Eternal Truth, it's in New Albany, Indiana. It is a non-denominational spiritual church, spiritualist church. So everyone's really welcoming, and even though they like reference the Bible or talk about God or Jesus, it's not like one of those places that's like either you believe this or you are fucking the devil, you know, like chill and you can like come as you are legitimately, like wear jeans, wear a t-shirt. Like, so I really like that place because it shows me that even though I may feel like alone at times or may not feel like I have like my tribe or full-on community of support. So like going there, it started helping me see that there are older people who don't have family support or friends that support them, that they come there alone, that they come there sad, sick, tired, but they come and they feel welcome there. And really, just a lot of the women and the people, especially the reverend uh Poppy. He told me about how he used to run drugs as a drug mule in the 60s, okay? Like, and he is a reverend there, okay. He also volunteers as um head of the crusade of for children in Indiana and has one in his district for the most money raised, like many times. So, like he is very big on giving back into the community. I really like that space because after they have their services, they do like a communal uh brunch upstairs where people can be fed and have community. So I just really like that place because I believe in the message that they're spreading. I believe in the messages that they present. And it's more of like you don't have to fit into some box or be societally accepted, you know, societal norms, and you can be whoever you want to be. And like this man used to be a drug mule in the 60s, and now he's speaking in a spiritual church running the crusade. You know, like you can literally be whoever you want to be. And what I think is so weird about kids and the youth these days is they are also hopeless. They don't have any hope, they don't have mentors, they don't have things they're excited about. I mean, I can see why they're not excited. They're working towards a world that's literally pushing them to the side every day. And it's like, I just don't understand a lot of the things in the world, but that place feels like so inviting and so supportive. So the bigger part of my journey was not just only speaking there and being invited to share my messages, but was just being included in that space because my mentor and friends also have spoken there before. And Suzanne Smith at the Intuitive Connection, she's the one that introduced me to that place. And she'll do pop-ups where she just comes in there and just sets in on a service on a random day, and she always says it's like at the perfect time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and Poppy, shout out to Poppy, he's such an OG. I mean, you go in there and he greets you so nicely and and you know, walks you through it, and you know, shout out to Suzanne, who I've met. And I also uh I love to like when you've gone up there and you know, me, I'm kind of just chill and like I smile at you, you'll be like, Is that you, Eric? You know, when you're doing the numbers and stuff, but like I love when people react. I've I've seen a few ladies react because you've really hit home with them, and the reaction is really cool because it's authentic, and you know, these people aren't as close to you as like me and Suzanne and others, so it's like those reactions are true, genuine reactions, and you know, and like you said, Poppy uh he does so much for the community, and and it just it is it's just a good place to go, and it's a safe place, and it's just something that is very refreshing being there. Um so I saw recently that you went to the spring meet out at Churchill Downs. How was that? Do you have a good time?
SPEAKER_00I actually went to the spring meet at Keeneland in. Yeah, Churchill's opening day is actually right now. Okay, Keeneland in Lexington is really built on like the historic aspect. I didn't know, but like the reason Lexington is so pretty is because like their zoning commissioners don't just approve shit. Like, oh, you want to turn this horse farm into an ugly ass apartment? No, sorry. And if you do buy or you know buy a farm in Lexington, they tell you what you can do. And if you're gonna make it a neighborhood, every lot has to be seven to ten acres. So that's not even really a fucking neighborhood. So that's why Lexington, I just feel so proud to be a Kentuckian when I go to Lexington, and it's nothing to do with like UAK or anything like that, it's just like the greenery and the traditional spaces. And Keenland is really a wonderful place. If people are interested in going and, you know, visiting. I know horse racing has its ups and downs, but it's a part of Kentucky culture, you know. Like I definitely know that some of those horses are treated better than others and treated better than humans. Some of them fucking horses ride and air condition in those stalls and in those things. So I do know that you know there's ups and downs with it, but at its core, Kentucky really has been built on horse racing, and Keeneland really shows that like truth and that history of horse racing, and it's such a beautiful place, and I absolutely love it. I go with work every year in the spring and the fall, but what's crazy is they only open up for three weeks in the spring and three weeks in the fall, and that's fucking it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I've been I've been to Keelan once, um, really loved it. My parents actually have been already this year, and you know, my dad he owns a lot of racehorses, he's been in that business for a lot since he's retired. And my best friend Christine down in Nashville, she's been on pretty much every season of vibing with Sleazy, Christine Hernandez. She is big equestrian girl, owns her own uh retired racehorse, and this is kind of fun. I uh I'm I'm excited to share this. So, shout out to Carissa. She was on uh my episode this season. She is the uh former stripper, now real estate agent, and just cleaning up her life. And um, I was helping her measure some houses to get square footage, and we were down on 44th Street in Louisville in the West End. And, you know, that's not a street that is known for horse racing or or anything like that, completely, you know, very far away from Churchill. But I'm in this house and it actually burned in a couple rooms, and we were measuring the square footage. Uh, she was working out something for her friend with insurance purposes or whatever. I didn't get into all that. I just was helping her measure it because I know how to measure a house. And I go in the living room and I'm looking at this stack of stuff that was like from a burn pile, and I find a random number silk for the West Virginia Derby. And so I sent it to Nashville, and uh Christine now puts it on Willie every time she rides. So Willie now has the West Virginia Derby silk. She said it's been a big talking point at the barn, and she actually texted me this morning while I was on my walk and she said, This is the coolest spine you've ever found. And I said, Yeah, I said, and it's also was found in the hood on 44th Street in this beat up home. And I asked Carissa, I said, Did you know the former owners of this house? And she said, Uh, yeah, I know them. And I was like, Well, why do they have this? And she never really could put two and two together. And she's like, You can have it. So it was really cool to find. But no, I believe I'm the same way. You know, there's ups and downs in horse racing, but I have all I've been to the Derby. I've I've loved horse racing. I I it was something I'd really share with my grandpa. My actually in college, my public speaking class uh when I went to college in Nashville, uh, I taught everybody how to horse bet. That was my public speaking final uh speech. So I got up in front of a hundred people and said, and the public speaking teachers like, What's your topic? And I was like, I'm gonna teach everybody how to bet on a horse. So I mean, we're doing trifectas in there exactly.
SPEAKER_00Tri box, baby, you gotta try box it.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, tri box, yeah, the tri box where you know, and and then for the listeners, if you aren't from Kentucky or don't know horse racing, when you box a pick, uh, if it's a trifecta, those three horses can come in any order and you still win. If you don't box it, they gotta come in exact order. And a lot of people will do the exact box, but the trifecta is gonna get you more money. And if you got balls and you're some crazy maniac and you want to spend some real dough, do a superfecta. And if you hit that shit, you might you might be able to retire that year. So, but at the end of the day, there's a lot of uh big, big, uh, big horses out there. I I love Lexington too because I I have to compliment on everything you just said because for about two years, I when I worked for Leo Weekly, the newspaper in Louisville here in the voice tribune, I also was the sales rep for Churchill Downs magazine. I did all the ads, and so every day I drove around Lexington stopping at horse farms and trying to sell this magazine, and it was fun. I still actually have the magazines in my living room, but um going to those horse farms and seeing the money and seeing the way things are taken care of, and Kentucky horse park in general is just a wonderful, beautiful place to go in Lexington. So I definitely second everything Paige said. Lexington is definitely the way to go. I uh I'm glad you uh corrected me there. I didn't realize uh Churchill Downs meet started here soon, but I I'm excited for the Derby. They announced the horses about three hours ago. Uh they posted what the horses' uh odds are and what their posts are. They even released the Oaks today as well. Um so that week is always exciting and fun. Um so I'm I'm really looking forward to that. Um I wanted to ask you, so uh you know, River Bend Music Center. We we went there last summer and I had a blast. So Contrary Cherry popped my cherry and brought me to Riverbend. So um do you have any plans of any shows this summer? Do you want to go to, or uh do you just want to? I just would love to hear your uh opinion on that venue.
SPEAKER_00Last year, at like this time, I went to um River Bend's website and pulled down their whole like lineup, and I literally just booked like seven shows and they all run together. Who did we go see?
SPEAKER_01Like we saw we saw the offspring, new found glory, and Jimmy World.
SPEAKER_00That's what I thought. Okay. Because I was gonna say it all runs together because I saw Kesha, I saw Little Wayne, I saw fucking the Offspring, I've saw so many people there. But what I like about that venue is A, it's hit or miss based on weather. If it's a beautiful day, it is a wonderful concert. If it is hot and blistering like it was the day we went, it's not that fun. And now I've realized I maybe only need to look at the shows that come out in the early months, not the ones that are like July, August. Because I'll be honest, when I booked those shows at the beginning of last year, I wasn't accounting for like how miserable July and August were gonna be. Because in August I saw Lil Wayne, I took my friend for her birthday, and I literally was like, fuck this. Like you were melting, you were melting, and even if you get a seated seat under the awning, it's still hot under there.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, it's hot, but I will say this what I love about what we when we went up there, it blew my mind because it was kind of like the perfect scenario for me. I love Cincinnati, it's like my second home. I go up there with you. We have a blast. We took the the travel SUV, your travel SUV, which was a smooth ass ride, and we got up there. We parked, we parked in such a perfect spot. Montgomery and Barbecue was right there. My favorite restaurant in all the world and Cincinnati is literally being sold there. I loved all three bands, and then just being there on the river, you know, yeah, it was hot, yeah, we were sweaty, but the vibe is so cool, and then you're literally walking through a non-animated Scooby-Doo set. The old Coney Island is like what you would see on a Scooby-Doo episode. It's got like the old amuse park, it's shut down. It it, but you're still walking through Coney Island to get to the venue, and so I was taking pictures and like you're right there on the river. And so, even when you were leaving the set, it gave you those spooky vibes when like we were walking to the car. So everything for me up there, it was a blast. I loved that day, and what was great too, um it's now got me motivated. Like, I feel like I have to at least go to one show up there each each year. I know Big Boy from Outcast. I've already seen Outcast live before, but now that it's just Big Boy, I love Big Boy. I like to maybe see him, but um, other than that, it's like you know, I might have to just pick a random show and go up there with somebody or friends, or even see what you got going on later this summer. But yeah, it's just such a such a cool vibe up there. So I'm really glad that you introduced me to that venue.
SPEAKER_00Um I'm looking at the summer lineup.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh. Um what's popping out to you?
SPEAKER_00They got kid Cuddy coming in like two weeks.
SPEAKER_01No, oh wait, that might be where Big Boy's at. I think Big Boy's opening for Cuddy.
SPEAKER_00Yep, he is.
SPEAKER_01May 16th. Oh, that's not that wouldn't be too hot.
SPEAKER_00Santana and the Doobie Brothers, Darius Rucker. Let's see who we got.
SPEAKER_01Don't you think that's crazy? Santana played at uh the original Woodstock and he's still playing? That's pretty crazy.
SPEAKER_00They got Sarah McLaughlin playing in the arms of an angel.
SPEAKER_01Shout out to Sarah McLaughlin. She sent me an autograph. I uh DM'd her on Facebook. I've been in this big kick of through the mail sending autographs out. Sarah McLaughlin hit me with one.
SPEAKER_00This sounds kind of cool. They're having a a Pink Floyd experience. It's called Brit Floyd. I don't know what that is.
SPEAKER_01It's probably a cover band that plays Pink Floyd hits.
SPEAKER_00Damn, not Hillary Duff coming, but already sold out.
SPEAKER_01She got a donk. I'd love to see Hillary Duff.
SPEAKER_00I didn't know she was even touring. Evanescence, the world tour, Sticks in Duffy.
SPEAKER_01Wake me up, Binsa.
SPEAKER_00We got Sticks in Chicago, Leonard Skinner, and Foreigner. That'd be hard.
SPEAKER_01That would be good.
SPEAKER_00Rod Stuart, Rod Stewart's last tour.
SPEAKER_01Hey, uh little Maggie, Maggie, what was that song? Maggie May or whatever. Yeah, he's he's gonna be.
SPEAKER_00Now, this might be going hard. TLC Salt and Pepper with In Vogue.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I'm I'd be down with that. That would be August. Here's the deal. After this episode, you you figure out what show we're going to. I'm rolling with you. You just tell me what we should go see, and I'm down because any of those things sound great, and I fucking love that venue.
SPEAKER_00Not them having pit bull later in the year.
SPEAKER_01I swear the pitbull, the craziest thing about Pitbull, I've noticed at all his shows, especially recently, the women and men all grab those bald skin caps in the crowd and they're just rocking out looking like Pitbull.
SPEAKER_00Did you know he's doing a public meetup for the most bald-headed people in one area to meet a world record?
SPEAKER_01I never know. I've not heard that. That's that's incredible.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's doing like a uh like a public meetup. I don't know when he's doing it or like what the details are, but supposedly he's trying to beat the world record for the most bald capped people in one area.
SPEAKER_01Now, don't don't quote me on this, people, but I the way the story plays out about pitbull, Walmart, all around the United States, they got Walmarts in Alaska too. There was like this thing where you could vote for Pitbull to play at like a Walmart or something, and he ended up like I guess they tried to troll him and like vote for him to be in Alaska. He showed up like that was what was crazy. And I swear, Pitbull, the thing that's so cool about him, like people don't realize before he had all these major hits and he was Mr. Worldwide, I mean, he was Miami Dade County, he was rapping on them little John mixtapes. I mean, he had he had some rap bangers, and then it's just like he's just evolved, evolved, evolved. I mean, when I worked for Budweiser back in the day, I remember he was the big promotion everybody was going crazy for because he's on the Bud Light cruise. And so even if I don't I don't get in the car and I'm just like Spotify, let's cue up Pitbull. But at the end of the day, one of his songs comes on, it's a banger, especially the clubs he had with Yin Gang twins. Like, Pitbull brought the heat.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's a couple songs that come on. What's it, Give Me Everything Tonight or whatever?
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh, that's a hit.
SPEAKER_00Oh don't even get me going on that one. That one comes on. That's it.
SPEAKER_01Like it's it's new, it's new life in this bitch. It's amazing. Yeah, no, oh my gosh, we might shit, we might have to go to pit bull, but no, it's um it's fun.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna do I'm gonna type in pit bull greatest hits. Let's read them out. Let's see what his tops are. Yeah, we got give me everything at the top.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Timber with Kesha. That's a fucking bop.
SPEAKER_01That's a banger.
SPEAKER_00We got I know you want me. I know you want me.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, that's a banger.
SPEAKER_00He's on the uh international love with Chris Brown.
SPEAKER_01That's another good song. He killed that song.
SPEAKER_00Neo time of our lives goes in.
SPEAKER_01Ooh.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's got a lot. He got Timber and Kesha don't never stop.
SPEAKER_01No, and the thing about Pimple, it's like it seems like all his songs give you that theme of like, like, let's I'm conquering shit. I'm conquering like, I mean, he just gets you get you motivated, get you pumped. So, no, that's crazy that he's on that lineup. But yeah, Riverbend, uh, if you have not been, definitely check it out. The food's great, the drinks are great, and it's always a uh good time there on the river. Um, so overall, what has uh what do you feel like you since the last time you were on, which we we were on around February, March of last year. Um, what do you feel like last year uh things have evolved for you spiritually? Like what are some new things you've learned, some new new uh things that have impacted you you feel like?
SPEAKER_00Well, I feel like for a long time the spiritual journey for me was about like healing and growing and like confronting my own demons and my learning more about myself. And now that I like have really integrated and inner child healing and focused on letting go and removing clutter, physical clutter, spiritual clutter, mental clutter, like I really did a lot of actionary work towards those steps. Now I just feel like I'm back to like that saying that says like before enlightenment, chop wood, eat, or whatever, like chop wood and eat, basically. And it says after enlightenment, chop wood and eat. So it's like I'm back there, like I'm kind of just back to like, okay, I was taking that too seriously, or okay, not every day has to be centered around healing, or not every day has to be productive, not every day is like a machine that you have to like conquer. And you know, it took me a while to like realize that a lot of people are utilizing spiritual growth as like a scapegoat or as a way to like lock in on their bad behavior, like, oh, you don't resonate with my opinions or who I am, so you're out of my life or whatever. Like a lot of people are utilizing spiritual practices as either a way to condone their bad behavior or to blame others for shit. And so I feel like now I've like really gone through this level of forgiveness, and even people that had like wronged me that I thought, like, oh, I will never speak to that person again. I feel like I can see the other like side of the coin so clearly. So even though that person did something that hurt me, I can see why they did it, what their intentions were, or how they were not directed towards me specifically, or whatever it may be. So I feel like spiritual growth for me used to be like a a task that I needed to like focus on or like, you know, really put energy towards. And now I'm just back at like the daily, like day-to-day. You know what I mean? Like now I just feel like, oh, okay, something's going on. I don't need to pull a card on it every single time, or I like things I would do daily, or things I would do like regularly haven't been like the center of anything lately. And also a big thing of spiritual growth for me was like wanting community and wanting to connect with like-minded people. And that desire has completely just left my body. Like building a community has just left my body. Fucking trying to help every single person I cross paths with has left my body. Uh, reaching and trying to stay active in people's life as we actively drift apart. It's all lifted from my body. Here lately, I don't even want my own friends to send me a bunch of reels back to back because it just overstimulates me. Like, send me one, don't send me 20. Because I have that weird like glitch or or like thing in my brain that feels like just because someone contacted me that I need to engage with it and I need to see it and I need to look at it. And I know it's from being in sales and being in the corporate world where you do have to do that and you have to constantly be like, oh, you have a good day. Oh, you let me know how to help you. Oh, how are you? And and in real life, I honestly I just want to skip past some of the surface level shit, like send in reels or how's your day or how you've been, and just either get to deep topics or just be quiet. Like, I'm not taking quiet as disrespect or distance as disrespect. Like, oh, you're being quiet. Oh, you're doing your own thing. So I'm just hoping that like people can see that like I'm turning a new leaf and I don't want to be included in everything. I don't want to be contacted about everything, I don't want to be told everything. I don't want to be looped in. Like, I don't want to be looped in. Like people will know I don't like certain things happening um with politics or administration, especially if it affects animals, water, or trees. I don't give a fuck about people that much. I don't. I think humans are their own cancer. Animals, helpless, trees helpless, water, helpless. All of them.
SPEAKER_01In the same way. In the same way. Yeah, I'm right there with you.
SPEAKER_00So I'm just kind of like at the point where like I think people try to bring their chaotic shit to my life, and I'm just over it. I'm just like, I'm I'm real big on like I'm about to start telling people to shut the fuck up, leave me alone. You are your own problem. You need help. It's mental, it's spiritual, and I don't care to help you. And I think that it's like my feminine rage or the things that women are being told to like silence, like that's not ladylike, or that's not nice, or that's not this. I don't have to be nice, just because you speak to me, or just because you want me to be nice to you. If you don't earn certain things from me, I'm done offering them for free. Like people say, like, men make little girls feel awkward in in public by being like, Oh, you look so pretty. And you're an old man. Like, you know, like people need to bring back like putting people in their place, making people feel weird, shaming people, even like you hang out with a dude that cheats on his wife, then call his ass out and not be his friend anymore. Like, I don't know. I feel like spiritual scapegoatism is really a big thing. And I think that people were using me as a way to, you know, be a scapegoat for them, whether they make me the problem or make me the issue or whatever. And I just feel like now I'm just back to like the eat, sleep, chop wood. Like it you came here to be human. We didn't come here to escape anything. We came here to remember that we are not actually in this, but an active co-creator of this.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and I I agree with you totally. I mean, if it's if I'm on a mountain and there's a human and a goat both hanging, I'm saving the goat. I mean, the human he can he can figure it out for himself or she can figure it out for themselves. I'm the same way. I have really realized, like, you know, you know me, I take my breaks between each season, and I've done so much deep reflection. I've done like scrapbooking and and different things, and uh, you know, spent a lot of time one-on-one personally with myself and just uh absorbing just everything going around. And I just realized I'm the same way. I don't want to hear about everybody's problems, I don't want to be bothered. I'm the same way as you. I feel like when somebody texts me, it's like, okay, I want to immediately react, I want to immediately respond. But sometimes it's good just to have that peace and be like, hey, I'll call you later down the road. You know, like I got a buddy that called me twice this past week. Um, you know, I love him to death, but I I'll call him here soon. I've been busy. So it's just there's different things, and everybody's going through different chapters in their life. And sometimes, you know, it's great to be there for people, and I'm I'm always still there for people, but sometimes when people bring me their problems and I'm sitting there and I'm like, you've continuously done this, you continuously keep going down this path, like you're gonna have to eventually learn and you're gonna have to evolve in your own way. Um, another big thing, you know, which I was so proud of you, and and I've been the same way. I've said on this podcast, you were so big on this. I'm so fucking tired of people using AI. It is insane. I understand that when you Google something, there there's an AI spectrum of it all, but at the end of the day, quit using AI for your art and your promotion. I have literally seen advertisements, this this new thing, which I I'm a big hater on this too. And if you listen and you do it, I'm sorry. I don't give a fuck. I don't like these people cooking at home, and you go pick up dishes from them and they're like advertising their cheese balls, like big papa pumps, big big butts, uh cheese, cheese balls. Come get four for twenty dollars. And he's using an AI image of him holding the stuff. That's not even you, that's not even what the food likes. I mean, you know, make your own menu. I mean, if you're gonna use that and it's gonna change, uh, quit being lazy and make your own menu. I paid for my own logos, I paid for my own stuff. Do it your own, or or or hire a graphic designer that actually that's their livelihood. And another thing that makes me mad, get your own brick and mortar restaurant. Start something. You know, why are you why do I need to go drive down to Taylor Boulevard to pick up your salad that you just bought a bunch of shit at Kroger and threw in a bowl and now you're selling it? I'm not knocking anybody's hustle. I hustle all day. I love hustling, but using AI imagery to promote that food and to promote that that store you're running out of your house, and it's not sanitary. How do I know if you okay, I buy a bunch of food from you? How do I know your cat didn't just shit in the bowl, you know, on accident? You're like, oh fuck, the cat got in the bowl. Let me, this is this is Eric's, let me make it. It's just I'm really against that, and I'm really against the whole AI movement of like how people are promoting it. I mean, there was a you know, rest in peace to this gentleman, it was just a hit and run here in Louisville. They're still looking for the person that hit them. But the family comes out and starts posting AI imagery, trying to get rewards and posting the car damage using AI. I'm like, what are we doing? Like, it's very simple. And it's like support your local artist, support your friend. It's not that hard to find a graphic designer. We have Google, you have connections. So that's my little rant. Um and what I wanted to say, I'm proud of you on. You called people out on AI, you you unfriended people. You literally were like, I don't give a fuck what our connection was. I'm done seeing it. You're you're fucking up the environment. It fucks with the water, it fucks with nature. AI, these data centers are taking over these plots of land, these places that don't need a fucking data center. It's just wake up and and just quit being hypocritical, people, and just realize like if you really want to support and if you want to run this local business of selling food out of your house, make your own fucking ads, make your own fucking artwork and actually show me real images of that food, that salad, that chicken, that those cheese balls. I don't want to see a cartoon picture of it, and then I go pick it up and it looks like the chicken's been sitting around for 14 days. I mean, how do you feel about that?
SPEAKER_00AI shit is an epidemic of idiots thinking that they're cutting corners by being even bigger idiots. There's only one lady who sells something that I like that uses AI that I will continue buy to buy things from her, but she's the only person, and I'm only giving her a pass because she's over the age of 50, and she don't know any better because the internet is not her strong suit, okay? Okay, on her side, but everyone else can get fucked. I deleted multiple people, even this girl who was like seeking mentorship from me, may mainly wanting some free spiritual stuff and acting like she was gonna pay multiple times. She never did. She started posting that fuck shit, deleted her, don't give a fuck. And at the end of the day, this is the thing. These billionaires don't give a fuck about you. The more information that you feed AI, it is so it can actually replace you. My favorite thing about all of this is when resources become finite, these people in power will watch us kill each other over coins. Okay. So I don't give a fuck about AI. I think you are so stupid if you feed into this as the future. CDs were the future, floppy discs were the future, USB drops were the future, this was the future, that was the future. None of that shit is around or even important anymore. Okay. You show a kid in fourth grade a floppy disk or a USB drop, he's gonna look at you like you're crazy. He's gonna ask you, is that a vape? Can I smoke this USB drop? 100%. Can it be smoked? Okay. So I'm just at the point where I don't care about AI because I don't have money invested in it. The people who are telling you that it's the future have billions invested in it. So you see the difference. The critical thinking is that people don't have discernment and are so blocked from their intuition because of the food that they drink or the food and things that they drink, the stuff that we consume, and the vibrations around us. Why do you think they treat kids the way they treat kids? They are developing workers, people who don't speak up, people who don't free think, people who don't have a brain. So therefore, they're easier to control. Okay. So this whole AI this. Someone ran the declaration of independence through an AI tracker. It says it's 95% sure it was made through AI. Okay, that's just a fucking joke. And for instance, if you go to Google and you put the minus sign and you put minus AI, it will remove any AI feedback from your search results. You're welcome.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And that's what that's and that's I'm glad you brought that up for people. Um, you know, they need to know those things to stop it. And and I think a hundred percent you're right. I mean, I'm glad we're on the same wavelength of it as it because it just shows you and I just we've gotten to know each other. We're not followers, we're our own leaders, we don't give a fuck. We we have people that follow us and listen to us and do those things, but at the end of the day, we don't we don't follow and and like I'm not going online and making myself a giant cartoon head. It's just it's just so stupid. And these people using that, it's also that's where catfishing is humongous. I mean, people try to use AI imagery when they're trying to go on dating sites, and then you meet with the person, you're like, you don't look anything like that because yeah, every image they used was AI. So we just have to realize and we all need to accept who we are. You need to build the confidence within who you are, you need to be proud of who you are and use your brain. Be creative. There's so many tools, there's so many ways to do it. And if you don't know how to do something and you feel like you have to utilize AI to do that thing, learn from somebody that already knows how to do it. So you're not going down that path. And also, too, it's like perfect example at my barber shop. There was a guy that uh they were sharing the story with me. He actually had left about 30 minutes before I went in for my appointment, and all the barbers were telling me he came in and said, Can I play a couple of my songs over the speaker? And it turned out to be a mortifying embarrassment for him because they all stopped and looked at him and were like, This is artificial intelligence. I'm I wasn't there if they were telling me about it, but it's just like that's sad. Like this this guy wanted to show off music that he created with Chat GPT and a beat he created from Chat GPT. There's so many talented beat makers out there buy a beat again, just like supporting a graphic designer, support a producer. You can really, and once you buy that beat from that producer, guess what? It's like you just helped him, you bought the right to the beat. Now that beat is yours, and now you can share that music. It's not some AI generated 16-bit, you know, uh thing or song. So I'm right there with you. I I just wanted to compliment you on that because I was really, really glad you stood out and said that because you know, you and I didn't talk, you know, we always talk, but I'm saying we didn't talk that day or anything, but I saw what you were saying and just how Facebook that that day when you posted that, our Facebook feeds were getting taken over by cartoon imagery of people that we all were friends with. It was absolutely crazy.
SPEAKER_00You know, I deleted so many freaking people because of that AI imagery big head motherfucking thing. Like, too fucking much. I really don't like it. I really think people have mental illness. I think people don't realize how dumb they look. Whoever decided to send the template to the heating and air companies and the plumbing companies with that same big head shit that they're putting on the side of their vans and their business cards really need fucking help. Because every time I see one of those big head motherfuckers on the side of a van, I think to myself, you got fucking scammed so fucking hard. Like, because what the fuck is that? Everybody has that same big head logo.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it's terrible. It's absolutely terrible. And and you hear and you'll talk to those people and they'll say, Oh, well, I bought this from a designer. No, you didn't. You you literally typed in a prompt and it generated that. Another thing these people don't realize. Okay, say you are a plumber, you you're 50 years old, you threw this up on your truck, you use it, you retire, whatever, plumbing business is out. Why do you want AI and why do you want people to be able to utilize that photo down the road on mock drafts and mock templates because you entered your data into a data center and now your face is like pixelated now and used on someone else's brand. And that's not what you would want as your legacy. You would want your legacy to be that the brand that you just did. So it just it's absolutely crazy, uh, just the way the direction's taking over. And, you know, I don't live in fear, and it's not like I'm sitting around like, oh God, AI is gonna take me over. But at the end of the day, it's taking over the world, and people just need to take a step back, be proud of their own work, be proud of what they're doing, and let humans be humans. Yes, we know AI can enter the data quicker on the computer, but let a human who needs to fucking eat and breathe, let them fucking put the data in for you. Okay, it might be a couple minutes slower, but people can still do it. People can still utilize it. So it just it's pretty crazy. And it's also wild too to me, like going to the hospitals now and going to the doctor's office, they they want to record your your visits now. And it's always so funny to me. Like, yeah, I went in, I injured my shoulder uh a couple weeks ago. I'm actually getting uh an injection on Tuesday, and uh what's interesting is that I went to the hospital and both times with Baptist Health, they the the person comes in and goes, Hey, we're we're doing this new thing. Are you okay with me like recording our session? And even my physician, when I got my physical, I've gone to the same doctor for years, he's actually retiring, but love the guy to death. But he said the same thing. Yeah, they're pushing me here my last year to do these recording, and it's getting to a point where it's like, where's the privacy? Where is the privacy anymore?
SPEAKER_00You know, I think so many people don't realize that when they load their data after accepting terms and conditions that they're doing that. And I also want to let you all know that Meta is closing out end-to-end encryption for all of their apps starting in May. So all that shit can just be handed straight over to the government, no warrant. Also, when you allow Meta to be able to scan your photos because you've given them permission to all your photos so you can upload on your story or upload on your page, they're also feeding that to AI as well. So your private photos, your nudie photos, whatever is in your album, even if you've not posted it on Facebook. So I, I know it's a hassle, will only allow certain permissions. Like I don't give it full access. So every single time I want to upload something new, I got to go back to the permissions, I gotta reselect the photos I'm gonna allow it to see. It's a pain in the ass, and I know 99.9% of people are not gonna do that. We have given up privacy and real community for perceived connection, and it's not. And Facebook is literally a part of the FBI. Why do you think it's FBI Federal Bureau of Investigation? But you FB is Facebook, Instagram is the ah, come for me wherever. It's FBI, baby. They're owned by the government, they are fed so much information. Why do you think they're deleting and getting rid of end-to-end encryption in all of their programs? Because the government wants it to be easier to just go around them to get the info. Like they don't want to have to go through you anymore to be able to get your information. They want to just have direct access. And I saw something earlier, and it said the reason the 90s felt so welcoming and warm is because businesses saw us as customers. Now businesses see us as consumers, and they're actually upset that they got to go through us to get our money.
SPEAKER_01No, you man, you have made such a great point. This episode's been a blast because we are just we are on the same link here. I agree with you 100%. The nostalgia feel of the 90s, yes, I loved in the 90s being outside all the time, not being glued. So I mean the farthest technology really was a game boy. I mean, at the end of the day, things were fun and you're outside, and businesses did feel it felt more authentic. I mean, it's the same deal with like not to get in the whole nother tangent, but like with the sports car market. I've been a sports card guy my whole life. In the 90s, they printed them like crazy. Everyone had cards. Most of the cards from the 90s are not worth any value anymore. But most of the cards that nowadays, I mean, they make great product, but all these brands are coming out, and cards are like you they're they're getting triple, quadruple value. And I understand flipping and doing all that, but people it's just everything's becoming monopolized, and it's just there's not there's just not that true authentic business feel where they really care about the customer. Like you said, it's more about the consumer. We just want to get it out there, we want more and more out there, but we also want to make it so highly expensive where people can't always enjoy these perks, or they're shelling out all their money for basic qualities of life.
SPEAKER_00You know what I feel like is with the internet, they've convinced us that oh, if you put your information out there, if you do this, you can go viral, you can make money, you can do that, you can do this. But they don't want the average person to be able to make money on the internet anymore. That's why everything has become an ad. Everything is influencer culture, everything is I'm selling you this, and you're gonna get this cool thing, even though it's not gonna really bring you joy, it's not gonna really make you happy. Like, you're not gonna be fulfilled, but I'm gonna pretend that I am fulfilled so that you may be like me. You know what I mean? Like, that's what I feel is like so many influencers are selling you like this dream of like, maybe you could be like me and we could have everything together just by this.
SPEAKER_01Yep. And the influencers don't care. And people that worship influencers over local talent or over up-and-coming people trying to do things, it's crazy to me because you don't know that person, you don't know what that person really is like off camera, you don't know what they're really trying to bring to your life, and you just kind of just absorb it because you're like, they got a shitload of followers, they're they're they're big time, they oh, they dated this celebrity, but at the end of the day, they don't care. What you're doing is just bringing more money to them, more fame, more glory to them while you're still living the same life, but you're just like, Oh, I but I downloaded this or I got this special email from them. It's not really from them, it's the same thing they're sending out to anybody else that contributed to that cause.
SPEAKER_00I feel like with the whole like everything is viral, everything has to be like a trend. What bothers me the most about like the day and age that we're in is every company seems to think that they need exponential growth every single year. So like last year was 20%, this year it's got to be 40%, then it's gotta be 60, because the only people that are suffering is the fucking animals and the earth. Because where in the world did we decide that every year has to be exponential growth, exponential construction, exponential this, exponential that, because eventually we're going to run out of shit. Like when I see them down south in Kentucky building factories on that rich orange clay soil that fucking is for farmland, because soil removal is not like that. So you already know, like, whatever. When you see them literally down there where like that blue oval truck plant was, or down in Glendale, down in Harden County, that orange clay soil is meant for fucking farming, not for factories, not for apartments. I personally don't like to be a doomsday person, but it makes me wonder where the fuck they think all of these places are gonna continue to be able to be built because trees give us oxygen. Are we gonna have any oxygen or where are we going?
SPEAKER_01Exactly. And see, I'm very blessed. I'm not gonna tell people like where I live or anything, but I'm blessed they built a park behind where I live. It's actually on some company's grounds, and I went there today during my walk. It's kind of my place to go relax. They have uh some rocking benches, and it was just so beautiful to take in. It it I'm sitting there, it's this P, it's a small park, it's got a walking path, but they got a pond, there's gooses everywhere, there are goose babies, there's squirrels with their baby, there's there's literally cones set up where birds are laying their eggs, and I just looked around and I'm sat there for about an hour, and I realized I'm like, there's so much wildlife in this little park. I saw five different types of birds, I saw all kinds of things, and everybody was just kind of vibing and hanging out, and you know, and it was cool to see the little goose babies and all that stuff. And I just sat there and thought to myself, I'm like, this is peace. This is this is relaxing, and it just it's a very, very incredible thing when people utilize the parts and utilize like protect wildlife because not only is it beautiful, but they deserve life too, they deserve love too. Um, something really funny. I just read recently. There was this guy, he's this crazy game hunter. He owns some vineyard in California. He went, he goes to Africa all the time to try to kill all this big game, and five elephants just trampled him. And it was amazing. It made me so happy. I I put a laughing emoji on the reaction.
SPEAKER_00You know what I commented?
SPEAKER_01What good good, yeah, yeah, because it's like fuck you, dude. And they're like, Oh, his house had so many things. You you ain't fucking cool. And when they say it's a trophy, shut the fuck up. That ain't a trophy, that's a fucking animal that you just cut their fucking head off and mounted on a wall. I don't find it cool. I don't find and especially he wasn't even hunting the elephants, he was actually hunting a yellow back, uh, it's like a uh a before or covert. It's kind of like an analogue-looking thing, kind of looks like a tapir, but it's like, dude, fuck you. That thing didn't deserve to be killed. And those elephants who had a calf who were like, hey, you just spooked us, we're gonna fuck you up. And at the end of the day, he got fucked up. And so at the end of the day, fuck him and fuck those big mothers.
SPEAKER_00With every fiber in my body, I hope he lived and died the most painful death. I hope when they crushed his skull, that his kids and grandkids just flashed before him, and all of those people that he manipulated to become a millionaire, wherever he wherever and whoever he stepped on to get where he is, I hope that they are just reveling in the joy. Because honestly, Spirits already told me multiple times that humans are the cancer that like Earth will be fine, and that whenever I reincarnate later, we will be back to more of like Atlantis times. Cause I already told my spirit team I'm done with the modern world. Like, I'm good on it. Like, yes, I like jewelry, yes, I like the internet, yes, I like lipstick and shit, but fuck all that. We were making lipstick out of berries and uh eyeliner out of coal. I'm good on it. I can figure it back out. But at this time, the amount of just gross ass behavior, the lack of empathy, and the reason that children are growing up the way they are is because they're not being taught to care for the land, to care for soil, to not litter, to care for water. When we were in school, they were literally telling us to turn off the water while we brushed our teeth.
SPEAKER_01Dude, and in elementary school, before I got really into sports, I was in the ecology club. I used to compete against other schools learning animal footprints, learning tree bark. I went to Otter Creek every year at Fern Creek Elementary, and we always won, represent. But we would go out there and we would name all the prints. We name that we had like a whole group, and my science lab, I I laugh all the time. Shout out to Laura Matta at Taco Bell. She'll crack up at this if she listens. But at the end of the day, this came, we had a Cayman uh little crocodile in my in my science lab in Fern Creek. And it just so many cool, I was around animals. We had a flying squirrel in our room, we had snakes. I mean, I used to have a snake in my neck in fourth grade, walking around class, my science lab teacher, rest in peace, Miss Prater, Bera Prater. She literally is who got me into animals and conservation and just wildlife in general and caring about nature. And that's why it's so important. And like you said, people are just utilizing land that does not need to be utilized. So I just think it's so so crazy that that there you just fucking nailed it. It's just there's no care anymore. So I just want to say this episode's been a blast because again, you're always a blast, you're always fun, you always nail it, we always vibe. But at the end of the day, man, we are on the same fucking wavelength because the same things that are bothering you have really been fucking bothering me. Um, I just want to thank you again for coming on the show. You're always incredible. You'll be on season eight, of course, when I start season eight. Um, I want to thank you again for having me on your podcast. That was a blast. I can't wait to come back on again. Uh, we had so much fun and we always have a good time. I hope we can make it to Riverbend and uh hopefully we'll you know we'll do something fun this summer, even if it's not riverbend. But um I want before I do my outro, I like you to do a little outro on just something you like to say and just how people can reach out if they like to get readings or just look into you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so thank you so much for having me, friend. It's always a good time. So, one message I want to say is just lock in on whatever it is, whether you like to play the piano, you like to make art, you like to garden, you like to go to the gym, like just lock the fuck in because no one can stop you or take it away from you when you put in the work. And nothing that is for you is gonna be able to pass you up. You just have to go after it, it's not gonna be handed to you. You have to go after it. So stay focused, lock in, fuck the haters. Don't worry about the internet or what other people are doing. Worry about what you want to do. And then if you want to catch me, you can always go to lollipoppodcast.com. I drop new episodes every Wednesday. I'm on season six, comes back on May 13th. So by the time you hear this, every Wednesday at midnight, tap in, or technically the night before, whatever. Let's go.
